Even though we live apart...

Do you know how much I miss you

And always have right from the start...


I’m sorry your Mom and I use to argue...

But there’s one thing we both agree...

We truly love you with all our heart...

You mean the world to her and me...


Do you know how much I think of you

Every morning when I awake...

Do you know I want to hold you

When my heart begins to ache...


I wish we could all live together

But sometimes parents move away...

Just know how much we love you...

And that our love will always stay...


Do you know you make us proud...

Do you know how much we care...

It’s such a honor to be your parents...

With all the praise your teachers share...


Sometimes life can be a challenge...

We make the best of every day...

Just remember that we both love you

I once loved my beautiful New Orleans… The city that care forgot… But today it’s like a frickin trashcan… With politicians that simply care not… They no longer pick up the garbage… As no one seems to care… I try to get my new neighbors to help out… But no one wants to do their share… It’s seems like people are happy… Living like fat pigs in a dirty pen… The local residents keep telling their children… Move away and don’t return again… The restaurants and bars are all closing… The tourists are nowhere to been seen… The crime rates are shooting through the roof… The entire city is no longer clean… We have no one to blame but ourselves… For electing politicians who feed at the trough… When we beg them to listen to our worries… They smile and give us the blow off… When we elect the dregs of society… Politicians with no skin in the game… It’s too bad New Orleans is dying… A slow death for those who remain… © 2021 Jeffrey Pipes Guice
