Everyday is Mother’s Day
You wake me with a hug...
As the sun begins to rise...
You ask me if I slept well...
Wipe the sleep away from my eyes...
You dress me up for school...
In all my favorite clothes...
You tell me I look just perfect...
As only a loving mother knows...
You make a yummy breakfast...
That’s really healthy for me, too...
You pack a perfect lunchbox...
Add my favorite candy bar or two...
When I arrive home after school...
You’re there to meet me with a hug and a snack...
You ask me “how was your day, son?”
And pat me lovingly on my back...
After I enjoy my snack...
I bring my book bag to my room...
My clothes are washed and folded...
By you, one only could assume...
You call me when dinner is ready...
And help me with my homework...
You tell me when it’s bath time...
As I give you a ‘whatever’ smirk...
You read me good night stories...
And tuck me snuggly into bed...
We say my prayers together...
Then kiss me softly on the head...
As you turn off the bedroom light
You tell me there’s nothing I should fear...
I love you Mom for all that you do...
Each and every day throughout the year...
