He Raised The White Flag

She awoke early one morning

To find herself alone in their bed...

She had gotten into another fight

With her boyfriend last night...

Over problems that were all in her head...

She looked in every room

Searching for her long lost lover...

They hadn’t really spoken in days

Her mind often away in a haze...

He grew tired of sharing the bed cover...

She thought the issues were minor

Because they miscommunicated all the time...

He said the constant abuse

Over stuff so obtuse...

The bickering became anything but sublime...

She hadn’t seen the problems arising

Being caught up in her own little world...

As their relationship fell apart

Slowly chipping away at his heart...

Alone in bed he would stay often curled...

She looked across the forest

Searching for her long lost man...

He had raised the white flag

And one day packed his bag...

To set off with a whole new plan...
