Resting Under The Old Oak Tree
Resting under the old oak tree...
Billy, Bobby and Sammy and me...
We did our part; we fought the war...
But then our lives ended; we didn’t get very far...
We fired our weapons from our foxhole...
We did our best, both day and night...
While the enemy fired down upon us...
We fought bravely to hide our fright...
We stayed close to one another...
We were brothers, one and all...
We held together, through thick and thin...
Until God gave us our final call...
It’s nice to be together...
Resting under the old oak tree...
We fought together; we died together...
Billy, Bobby and Sammy and me...
