What if Jesus had been from New Orleans...

Would we see y’all throughout the Bible...

What if the last supper had been a crawfish boil...

With Mardi Gras Indians dancing all tribal...


What if the New Orleans Saints were really from heaven...

Would they have never lost a game...

What if the referees’ calls were truthful...

Would the playoff outcome have been the same...


We take our religions seriously...

New Orleans is the home to many a church...

Our Sundays are always sacred...

On the Superdome rafters do the white doves perch...


What if the twelve Apostles

were to open a French Quarter bar...

Would they hire nuns as dancers

Or is this story going just a little too far...

I once loved my beautiful New Orleans… The city that care forgot… But today it’s like a frickin trashcan… With politicians that simply care not… They no longer pick up the garbage… As no one seems to care… I try to get my new neighbors to help out… But no one wants to do their share… It’s seems like people are happy… Living like fat pigs in a dirty pen… The local residents keep telling their children… Move away and don’t return again… The restaurants and bars are all closing… The tourists are nowhere to been seen… The crime rates are shooting through the roof… The entire city is no longer clean… We have no one to blame but ourselves… For electing politicians who feed at the trough… When we beg them to listen to our worries… They smile and give us the blow off… When we elect the dregs of society… Politicians with no skin in the game… It’s too bad New Orleans is dying… A slow death for those who remain… © 2021 Jeffrey Pipes Guice
