A City of Squalor
I once loved my beautiful New Orleans…
The city that care forgot…
But today it’s like a frickin trashcan…
With politicians that simply care not…
They no longer pick up the garbage…
As no one seems to care…
I try to get my new neighbors to help out…
But no one wants to do their share…
It’s seems like people are happy…
Living like fat pigs in a dirty pen…
The local residents keep telling their children…
Move away and don’t return again…
The restaurants and bars are all closing…
The tourists are nowhere to been seen…
The crime rates are shooting through the roof…
The entire city is no longer clean…
We have no one to blame but ourselves…
For electing politicians who feed at the trough…
When we beg them to listen to our worries…
They smile and give us the blow off…
When we elect the dregs of society…
Politicians with no skin in the game…
It’s too bad New Orleans is dying…
A slow death for those who remain…
